Big Opportunity for Nigerian Creatives: Apply Now for CEDF – Deadline Extended to June 30!

Published

on

The Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy (FMACTCE) is proud to announce the launch of the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) — a groundbreaking initiative recently approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The CEDF is a bold step toward accelerating the growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s creative and cultural sectors. It aligns with the federal government’s broader vision of job creation, economic diversification, and enhancing Nigeria’s global influence through culture and the arts.

This Fund marks a historic investment in the nation’s creative economy, recognizing it as a vital engine for both economic development and cultural diplomacy.

Key Objectives of the CEDF

  • Fuel Industry Growth: Provide vital funding for creative and cultural enterprises — including those in film, music, fashion, art, publishing, gaming, and cultural tourism — to scale operations and tap into new markets.
  • Improve Access to Finance: Open up innovative financing pathways for creative entrepreneurs, especially those previously excluded from traditional banking and investment systems.
  • Create Jobs & Diversify the Economy: Empower businesses in the creative space to grow, generating employment opportunities (particularly for youth) and reducing over-reliance on oil and other traditional sectors.
  • Leverage Intellectual Property (IP) as Collateral: Introduce a transformative model for monetizing creative assets. Through the CEDF, talents will be able to use intellectual property — such as film rights, musical works, or digital content — as bankable collateral for accessing finance.

📅 Application Deadline: June 30, 2025
