Role Overview
We are looking to hire a highly skilled Data Center Administrator with strong expertise in ORACLE, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and other relational database systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing our database environments, supporting performance optimization, ensuring data security, and maintaining system reliability across development and production environments.
This role requires hands-on technical proficiency, proactive problem-solving, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. You’ll also support data modeling efforts and play a key role in sustaining our enterprise data warehouse infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Manage Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.

Ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of database servers and systems.

Collaborate with development teams to support complex query optimization and database design.
-
Provide round-the-clock support for mission-critical systems, including after-hours maintenance.
-
Execute database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery strategies.
-
Apply data modeling techniques and contribute to performance-enhancing database designs.
-
Automate regular processes and maintain up-to-date documentation.
-
Analyze and resolve real-time database issues independently.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
-
2–6 years of relevant post-NYSC work experience in database and systems administration.
Technical Competencies:
-
Strong hands-on experience in administering Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
-
Knowledge of data backup, recovery models, and database performance tuning.
-
Familiarity with database replication, failover, and high-availability setups.
-
Understanding of Oracle Data Guard and PostgreSQL replication processes.
-
Experience with Active Directory and Oracle Linux is a plus.
-
Proficient in scripting and automation.
-
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for sales teams in assigned territories, defining approaches to maximize revenue through partnerships and commercial actions.

Align distribution channels with Qatar Airways’ distribution strategy for optimal impact.

Create and execute local sales incentive strategies aligned with short- and medium-term business objectives.

Review market intelligence, data, and trends to identify tactical revenue opportunities.

Act as the Customer Champion in assigned territories, ensuring customer service excellence and enhanced sales through value-added partnerships.

Negotiate B2B agreements, including commissions, corporate contracts, PLBs, and JMFs.

Deliver sales targets and KPIs while managing expenditure budgets for maximum ROI.

Strengthen Qatar Airways’ brand presence by working closely with digital and marketing teams.

Build and maintain high-level relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, diplomatic missions, airports, and industry bodies.

Ensure compliance with company policies and represent Qatar Airways legally in assigned markets.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
-
Minimum of 7 years’ sales experience, with extensive commercial knowledge of the Nigerian market.

Strong background in airline sales, including use of airline business tools and product selling.
-
Proficiency in preparing reports on sales performance and market trends.
-
Excellent knowledge of GDS systems, ticketing, and travel industry sales.
-
Proven experience in planning, budgeting, and achieving revenue targets.
-
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide sales teams.
-
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client and partner relationships.
-
Ability to analyze market and competitor activity to inform strategy.
