Apply for Africa’s Data Future Fellowship 2025 – A 3-Month Remote Program for Emerging Data Leaders

The Africa’s Data Future Fellowship is a prestigious 3-month remote capacity-building initiative designed to empower emerging professionals shaping the future of data governance across the continent. Hosted by the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), this fellowship provides participants with expert mentorship, advanced knowledge, and the practical tools needed to drive impactful change in digital policy and data ecosystems in Africa.

For the 2025 cohort, CSEA will select five fellows from each African sub-region. Throughout the program, fellows will engage in virtual learning, collaborate with thought leaders, and explore solutions to pressing data governance issues. Each fellow will also produce a policy brief on one of the program’s core themes and present it during a high-level workshop—turning insights into real-world policy influence.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A postgraduate degree with at least 1 year of professional experience in social sciences, technology, law, digital policy, or related fields

  • Residency in one of Africa’s five sub-regions (North, West, East, Central, or Southern Africa)

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in data governance or digital transformation

  • Ability to dedicate at least 2 hours weekly to the program

  • Access to a reliable internet connection and a working computer

Fellowship Benefits
