About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Graduate Engineering Trainee to join our Crude Operations team. The ideal candidate will support daily loading operations, ensure accurate reporting, uphold safety standards, and maintain the integrity of crude handling procedures at our terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily barge loading operations with the Supervisor/Operations Manager

  • Reconcile loaded quantities using tank and barge calibration charts

  • Prepare and submit daily and monthly dispatch summaries

  • Supervise dispatch assistants and inspect barges at the jetty

  • Monitor product receipt from Beneku and maintain communication with the control room

  • Conduct quality checks, product sampling, dipping, water draining, and documentation

  • Ensure proper sealing of all loaded barges and truck compartments

  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the tank farm and accessories

  • Comply with safety standards, promptly report abnormalities, and update stock reports

  • Record all activities in logbooks and submit accurate reports for reconciliation

  • Complete additional tasks and assignments as directed by the Product Coordinator

Performance Expectations:

  • 100% compliance with dispatch schedules – no overnight loading delays

  • Zero product loss at the jetty

  • 0% documentation and sealing errors

  • Strict adherence to HSSEQ and SOP standards

  • Accurate product loss tracking (max allowable: 0.01% of receipt)

  • 99.9% report accuracy on monthly operational records

  • Consistent early-morning quality control checks and tank maintenance

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of terminal operations and product handling

  • Meticulous attention to detail and documentation accuracy

  • Effective supervision and team coordination skills

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards

  • Familiarity with equipment, tank calibration, and barge operations
