The Africa-Europe Foundation is excited to launch the 2025 edition of the Africa-Europe Youth Awards Scheme, under the inspiring theme #RoadToLuanda25. This prestigious program seeks to recognize, support, and amplify the voices of young changemakers strengthening Africa-Europe cooperation.

As the continent prepares for the Africa-Europe Summit in Luanda, Angola (November 2025), this initiative highlights the essential role of youth in shaping bi-continental partnerships through innovative, community-driven efforts.

 Why You Should Apply

1. Continental Recognition
Gain continental visibility as a youth-led initiative transforming Africa-Europe relations. Awardees will be showcased in Africa-Europe Foundation publications, media, and events.

2. Grant Funding & Support
Each selected initiative will receive a €5,000 grant, along with capacity-building and mentorship provided by the Africa-Europe Foundation and its global partners.

3. Influence & Engagement
Connect directly with policymakers, experts, and other youth leaders. Your initiative will be spotlighted in the #RoadToLuanda25 campaign and the Africa-Europe Summit.

 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a youth-led organisation or platform, officially registered in an AU or EU member state.

  • Lead an initiative that demonstrates impactful contributions to Africa-Europe relations at the local, national, or intercontinental level.

  • Submit either an ongoing or newly launched initiative, aligned with the Africa-Europe Foundation’s values.

  • Work in any of the following sectors (or related fields):

    •  Climate and Environment

    •  Education and Innovation

    •  Gender Equality and Inclusion

    •  Peacebuilding and Civic Engagement

    •  Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship

 Key Dates

  • Application Deadline: 1 September 2025
    (17:00 CET | 18:00 EAT)

  • Implementation Period: 15 September – 31 October 2025

  • Winners Announced: October 2025

  • Recognition at Luanda Summit: November 2025
