Job Title: Business Intelligence Designer
Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose and Objective

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Designer, you will play a crucial role in our data-driven organization by transforming raw business systems data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making. You’ll create user-friendly reports and interactive dashboards using leading BI tools—primarily Microsoft Power BI.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across departments to deliver insights that drive performance and growth. Our team embraces innovation, including staying current with trends like AI and engaging in research and development (R&D) to improve BI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

BI Analysis

  • Translate business needs into clear, well-structured BI requirements.

  • Collaborate with software providers and data sources to create impactful reports and dashboards.

  • Estimate workload and delivery timelines accurately.

Teamwork

  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver projects on time, within budget, and at expected quality.

  • Offer constructive feedback and contribute to a collaborative, solution-driven environment.

Learning & Development

  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies, trends, and tools in BI and AI.

  • Participate in R&D to explore and implement emerging BI strategies.

  • Mentor and support junior team members.

BI Design

  • Design accurate, compelling dashboards and reports using Power BI.

  • Transform data into engaging, easy-to-understand visuals to drive user adoption.

  • Assign and manage user access rights for BI reports.

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure accuracy and quality.

Post-Design Activities

  • Support analysts and key users during validation testing.

  • Provide ongoing technical support and training.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues promptly.

Key Competency Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Science or related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

Should Have:

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms.

  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of additional BI tools or programming languages (e.g., Python).

  • Experience in the FMCG or food and beverage manufacturing and distribution sector.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.

  • For senior roles: leadership ability, strategic thinking, and mentoring skills.
