Role Overview

We are seeking a highly driven Risk Management & Internal Controls Officer to join our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. This role is critical to supporting the implementation of our risk management framework, enhancing internal control systems, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and assessment of business risks aligned with strategic and operational objectives.

  • Execute risk assessments and control reviews in line with the annual risk management plan.

  • Maintain proper documentation of findings, risk assessments, and recommendations.

  • Support the development of accurate and timely reports to stakeholders.

  • Evaluate systems and procedures across business functions to identify improvement areas.

  • Monitor compliance with established policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct confidential investigations related to control breaches or non-compliance.

  • Assist in gathering data for new business opportunities and strategic reviews.

  • Provide day-to-day support for the ERM department’s operational tasks.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in risk management, internal controls, or audit.

  • Membership or progress toward ACA, ACCA, or CIA certification is an added advantage.

  • Prior experience with a Big 4 audit firm is required.

  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks and risk management principles.

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.

  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.

Performance Indicators

  • Quality and timeliness of audit documentation and review reports

  • Efficiency in completing investigations and risk reviews

  • Contribution to improvements in internal processes and compliance
