About the Role
Our client, a reputable apparel production company based in Lekki, Lagos, is seeking a skilled Apparel Technical Designer / Pattern Maker to join its dynamic team. This full-time, on-site role requires a creative and detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of garment design and construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and refining garment patterns and technical packs to support high-quality apparel production.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain accurate garment patterns for existing and new product lines.

Create and update tech packs and work instructions in alignment with design specifications.

Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure accurate execution of garment customization requests.

Analyze and interpret design models and blueprints to translate into workable patterns.
-
Utilize both computer-aided design (CAD) software and manual techniques to produce rough drafts and final templates.
-
Measure, cut, and prepare patterns based on required garment specifications.
-
Conduct pattern checks and coordinate with manufacturing for initial and final sample reviews.

Recommend improvements to pattern construction, materials, and assembly methods to enhance garment quality.

Support documentation of manufacturing best practices.

Participate in product development discussions and garment fitting sessions.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of Secondary School Certificate; HND, OND, or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Technology, or related fields is an advantage.

Solid knowledge of garment construction and industry-standard manufacturing processes.
-
Prior experience as a patternmaker in an apparel production environment.
-
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office.

Ability to understand, interpret, and generate technical packs (Tech Packs).
-
Experience in garment grading and developing grade rules.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
-
Physically capable of working on the factory floor and standing for extended periods.
-
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements

A proficiency test will be administered during the interview process.

Candidates must be available to work onsite at the factory location in Lekki.
