Empowering Young Climate Leaders: Apply for the GYCAF 2025 Microgrants

The Global Youth Climate Action Fund (GYCAF) is building a future where young people are equipped with the funding and tools to lead green enterprises and drive climate solutions. Focused on empowering youth—especially in vulnerable communities—GYCAF supports innovative, grassroots projects that promote a sustainable, low-carbon global economy.

Aligned with international climate goals, including limiting global temperature rise to well below 2°C and mobilizing $100 billion in climate finance, GYCAF responds to the urgent call from the IPCC for youth-led solutions in this critical decade.

Who Can Apply?

The 2025 Microgrants Program is open to:

  • Youth-led organizations or initiatives (at least 80% of leadership must be aged 18–35).

  • Groups or individuals actively working at the grassroots level on climate action.

  • Applicants with existing or launch-ready projects that offer measurable environmental and social benefits.

Funding Priorities

Projects must fall under one or more of the following themes:

  • Sustainable Agriculture – Climate-smart food systems

  • Clean Energy Access – Renewable energy for underserved communities

  • Ocean Conservation – Marine ecosystem protection and resilience

  • Capacity Building – Climate entrepreneurship and youth leadership

  • Environmental Stewardship – Biodiversity and eco-conscious behavior

  • Climate Tech & Innovation – Creative tech solutions for climate issues

Eligibility Checklist

  • Aged 18–35 and leading or representing a youth-driven initiative

  • Committed to local impact and sustainable outcomes

  • Project includes a clear budget, timeline, and role assignment

  • Proposal outlines long-term goals and how the grant will be used

Grant Value & Benefits

  • 3 to 5 projects will be selected

  • Each will receive $500 to $1,000 in funding
