Apply for the Budeshi Mini-Grant: Empowering Nigerian Organizations Advancing Procurement Transparency

Budeshi, in collaboration with Devon, is proud to introduce a Mini-Grant Program designed to strengthen transparency and accountability within Nigeria’s procurement systems. This initiative supports local organizations with a proven dedication to good governance, anti-corruption, and public procurement monitoring.

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is open to Nigerian-based organizations with a solid background in:

  • Transparency and accountability

  • Governance reform

  • Anti-corruption advocacy

  • Procurement monitoring

Organizations currently implementing or planning procurement-related initiatives are especially encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Budeshi Mini-Grant, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Legal Registration

  • Must be a registered organization with a valid certificate.

  • Organizations in the process of registering can apply, but funds will only be released upon full registration.

2. Community Engagement

  • Must demonstrate active presence and impact in local communities.

  • Verifiable community development or program delivery within the applicant’s state is required.

3. Governance and Internal Controls

  • Clear governance structure with documented roles and responsibilities.

  • Ability to implement basic internal controls, financial accountability, and reporting systems.

4. Financial Management

  • Must have a functional bank account in the organization’s name.

  • Capable of maintaining basic financial records and submitting to audits and project evaluations.

5. Program Alignment

  • Proposed initiatives must align with the grant’s priority areas, including:

    • Health

    • Education

    • Gender equality

    • Youth empowerment

    • Climate action

    • Governance

  • Projects should strengthen procurement accountability within their state.

6. Legal & Ethical Standing

  • Must not be under investigation or banned by any donor, agency, or regulatory body.

  • Must operate with integrity, uphold human rights, and embrace transparency and non-discrimination.

7. Sustainability & Local Impact

  • Projects should involve community participation and demonstrate potential for long-term impact.

  • Applicants must outline a clear sustainability plan and commit to using the Budeshi platform for procurement reporting.

8. Monitoring and Reporting

  • All beneficiaries are required to report activities via the Budeshi platform.

  • Top-performing organizations will be recognized annually for outstanding program reporting.

Grant Value

Each selected organization will receive up to $7,500 USD to support their procurement monitoring efforts.
