The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced an upward review of its service fees, set to take effect from August 15, 2025. The adjustment is part of the Commission’s efforts to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and respond to Nigeria’s current economic challenges.

In a statement released on Tuesday, CAC attributed the decision to increasing operational costs and wider macroeconomic pressures. The Commission noted that the changes were finalized after engaging with key stakeholders across relevant sectors.

According to CAC, the revised fees are essential to sustain its digital transformation initiatives and maintain its commitment to delivering efficient, technology-driven services. It further assured businesses and the public that the new charges will remain “modest and competitive,” in line with its mission to strengthen Nigeria’s corporate registry, build investor confidence, and foster a transparent regulatory environment.

While the full breakdown of the revised fee structure is yet to be released, the Commission advised stakeholders to begin preparations for the upcoming changes and watch for further announcements.

This adjustment follows a growing trend among government agencies updating service fees to reflect current economic realities. In May 2025, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) implemented new pricing for several services, including a 75% increase in the cost of correcting date of birth details on the National Identification Number (NIN) database—from ₦16,630 to ₦28,574.

As inflation and cost pressures persist, further reviews by other public service institutions may be on the horizon, potentially affecting a wider range of services across the country.
