The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), a conventional university established in January 2013, commenced academic activities during the 2014/2015 session. The institution currently houses a School of Postgraduate Studies, College of Health Sciences, and four faculties (Education, Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, and Science).

Academic Positions
1. Assistant Lecturer
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
First Degree with at least a Second-Class Upper Division.
-
Candidates with lower divisions may also be considered.

NYSC Certificate or valid exemption.
Grade: CONUASS 1.
2. Lecturer II
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
Ph.D. in a relevant field, OR Master’s Degree with at least 2 publications in reputable journals and 2 years’ experience as Assistant Lecturer.
Grade: CONUASS 3.
3. Lecturer I
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
Ph.D. with at least 2 years as Lecturer II, plus 5 journal publications and 2 conference proceedings, OR
-
Master’s Degree with 3 years’ university teaching experience as Lecturer II, with the same publication requirements.
Grade: CONUASS 4.
4. Senior Lecturer
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
Ph.D. with 6 years university teaching experience, including 3 years as Lecturer I.
-
At least 6 journal publications and 5 conference papers.
-
Evidence of continuous research and academic leadership.
Grade: CONUASS 5.
5. Reader
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
Ph.D. with 9 years’ experience at the university level, including 3 years as Senior Lecturer.
-
At least 12 journal publications and 8 conference papers.
-
Proven postgraduate supervision (Master’s and Ph.D.).
-
Evidence of academic leadership and favorable external assessment.
Grade: CONUASS 6.
6. Professor
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
Ph.D. with at least 12 years’ university teaching experience, including 3 years as Reader.
-
At least 15 journal publications and 10 conference papers, with 75% in the candidate’s specialization.
-
Significant postgraduate supervision, research grants, academic leadership, and mentorship.
-
Must currently hold a senior role or awaiting external assessment for professorship.
Grade: CONUASS 7.
Non-Academic Positions
1. University Librarian
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Responsibilities:
-
Day-to-day management of the University Library.
-
Formulation of policies, budget preparation, and engagement with departments.
-
Supervision of staff and advancement of library services.
Requirements:
-
Ph.D. in Library and Information Science.
-
At least 15 years’ experience with publications in reputable journals.
-
Membership of LRCN and NLA.
-
ICT proficiency and strong administrative ability.
-
Not more than 60 years of age at assumption of duty.
Tenure: 5 years (single term).
2. Director, Physical Planning, Works & Maintenance
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Requirements:
-
B.Sc./B.Engr. in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Quantity Surveying, or Town Planning (Second-Class Lower minimum).
-
Professional membership (COREN, ARCON, QSRBN, CORBON, or TOPREC).
-
At least 9 years’ post-qualification experience with current practicing license.
-
ICT compliance and proven integrity.
-
Not more than 60 years on assumption of duty.
Tenure: 5 years (single term).
3. Vice-Chancellor
Location: Gusau, Zamfara
Position Overview:
The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University, responsible for academic excellence, staff and student welfare, and management of resources.
Requirements:

Ph.D. from a recognized university.
-
At least 15 years’ experience in a university, with 10 years as Professor.
-
Proven leadership in teaching, research, and administration.
-
Strong fundraising ability, integrity, ICT proficiency, and entrepreneurial drive.

Not more than 65 years of age by 10th February 2025.
Tenure: 5 years (non-renewable).

Key Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Make Ready Coordinator/Security Escort ensures leased residential units are properly prepared for occupancy across all Mission agencies in Abuja. With over 150 short-term leased properties under management, this role plays a vital part in maintaining U.S. Mission housing standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate with the General Services Office, Facilities Maintenance, and Regional Security Office (RSO) to prepare housing for new staff arrivals.

Inspect residences prior to employee departure to assess damages to government-furnished furniture, appliances, and equipment.
-
Supervise contractor teams (3–6 staff or more) to ensure work meets U.S. Mission requirements.

Serve as a security escort when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:

Completion of high school.
Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in administration and/or building trades.
Language:

Fluent English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Job Knowledge:

Familiarity with administrative procedures.
Skills & Abilities:
