Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our construction team in Port Harcourt. This role involves conducting field and laboratory tests on materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates, ensuring full compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of delivering accurate test results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory tests on construction materials (soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregates) according to industry regulations.

  • Support secondary testing for permeability, strength, and material compliance.

  • Prepare, log, and maintain accurate records of test samples and results.

  • Accurately compile, input, and report laboratory data.

  • Ensure laboratory practices meet accreditation and quality assurance standards.

  • Maintain calibration records for laboratory equipment.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum: WAEC/SSCE and/or OND with hands-on experience in a construction laboratory.

  • Preferred: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Geosciences, or related fields.

  • Experience: 1–3 years working in a materials testing lab (construction sector), especially with soil, concrete, and asphalt testing.
