Apply Now: SWEEAP Training Program for Women Entrepreneurs in Kano and Rivers States
Scaling Women’s Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement Reforms (SWEEAP)
The SWEEAP Training Program is an initiative designed to strengthen the capacity of Women-Owned and Women-Led Businesses (WOLBs) to successfully engage in both public and private sector procurement opportunities.
This impactful project is implemented by DO Take Action with support from the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF) and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
This application form is intended to identify and enrol eligible women entrepreneurs for participation in the SWEEAP initiative.
About the Program
SWEEAP empowers women entrepreneurs through expert-led training, mentorship, and advocacy, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in competitive procurement spaces. The program also promotes inclusive procurement policies that drive gender equity in business.
Program Highlights

Eligibility Criteria

Women entrepreneurs operating in Kano or Rivers State

Owners or leaders of informal or early-stage businesses, especially those looking to formalize

Entrepreneurs willing to fully participate in all training sessions

Women with limited financial resources—no minimum revenue is required

Business owners open to formalizing their operations as part of the training
Additional Qualification Criteria

Women-Owned Enterprises: At least 51% of the business must be owned by women
-
Leadership Representation: At least 20% ownership with women in key decision-making roles (e.g., CEO, COO)
-
Board Diversity: Priority will be given to businesses with a minimum of 30% female representation on their board
